MDS are seeking passionate individuals to assist people with a disability in a 1 on 1 setting. You will be engaging your participants in their home or community. Our participants want support workers who share their interests and can help them achieve their goals. 

Below is a summary of some of our participants you may be working with:

  • Participant 1 is a woman seeking assistance to live in her own home independently. She would like reliable and committed support workers to provide her assistance in personal care, mobility assistance (from a wheelchair), Diabetes care, domestic duties and social support. Shifts are available Monday-Friday 730am-530pm and Saturday/Sunday 730am-1130am in Georges Hall
  • Participant 2 is a woman seeking a support worker to connect and engage with in social supports in her home, and being taken out into the community to cafes, restaurants, movies and shopping. Shifts are available Wednesday 930am-130pm Wednesdays

Key Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Supporting people with a disability and their family/carers in achieving life learning, recreation, employment and educational goals and aspirations
  • Engage with people with complex care needs to support achievement and encourage further independence
  • Provide personal care, living skills, transport, other services and support.

The successful applicant will have:

  • HLTAID003 Provide First Aid Qualification - current within 3 years
  • HLTAID001 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation - current within 12 months
  • COVID-19 vaccination
  • NDIS Worker Clearance
  • Valid Working with Children's Check
  • Driver's Licence (P1 or above)
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
  • A passion for supporting others

The Positions are available as Casual or Part Time on the hours outlined above. Work is available with other participants and with our other MDS programs should you wish to work additional hours. This role is covered under the SCHADS Award as a Level 2 Social and Community Worker ($40.26 - $43.93 per hr Casual).
