Full Time Permanent Position

Band 6 - Salary Range $92,304 to $100,516 per annum + 11% Super + ADO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity

This position will be part of the Landscape Design / Capital Delivery Department and will provide high quality landscape architectural input in the preparation, assessment and implementation of both improvements to the existing public realm network by Council and the creation of new public realm assets for Council by the land development industry.

The position will require you to work closely with all business units within Council, Developers and other stakeholders as an integral part of the future planning and design and delivery of the city.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare landscape plans, documentation and guidelines for minor and major capital works projects undertaken by Council to ensure quality outcomes in the public realm that will benefit the municipal community.
• Apply theoretical or scientific principles to prepare and review landscape drawings, specifications, and cost estimates and provide feedback to consultants (including landscape recreation, ecology & cultural heritage) and other Council departments.
• Participate in the supervision and review of landscape works being constructed directly for Council or by contractors.
• Participate in the procurement, assessment and management of external consultants or contractors to assist in the delivery of Council projects.
• Coordinate the handover of open space development from developer to Council, including the addition of asset data into Council’s Asset Management System.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

• Tertiary qualification in Landscape Architecture or related discipline with relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience in all facets and requirements of site analysis, landscape design, development, documentation, construction and supervision.
• Proficiency with Microsoft office- software (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and proficiency with computer design software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop). 
•  Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult situations, negotiate outcomes and present a positive Council image.
• Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
