The Opportunity
Council has entered into a partnership with a service provider to deliver elevated standards across our sportsground network. To complement this, we are looking to appoint a project officer who can deliver renewal and upgrades to supporting infrastructure such as irrigation systems, fencing, coaches boxes etc. This is an exciting time to be a part of Team Melton as we invest in our network to meet the needs of our growing community.
The role will work closely with the Sportsground Turf Specialist and Recreation Team whilst reporting to the Parks Coordinator within the City Delivery Directorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the delivery of a range of turf and irrigation renewal & maintenance programs.
- Provide accurate and timely reporting within Councils project management framework.
- Supervise contractors and specialist providers to deliver quality works in accordance with the contract specification.
- Assist the Sportsground Turf Specialist with the supervision and delivery of the maintenance contract and associated works.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in turf management (minimum certificate 3) or associated science with relevant experience preferably with local government, alternatively lesser formal qualifications and substantial relevant experience.
- Experience in managing Sportsgrounds and ability to undertake audits, assessments and problem solve.
- Experience in Sportsground Infrastructure including training lights, synthetic surfaces, fencing and supporting assets.
- The ability to interpret sportsground asset plans.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
