The Opportunity
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced leader to manage the Child Family and Youth team whilst permanent recruitment of this position occurs. The position of Interim Manager Child Family and Youth will work closely with the Director City Life.
This interim Manager role will provide leadership, strategic direction and advice to Council in relation to programs and services that promote the learning, health and wellbeing of children, young people and families in the City of Melton.
We are seeking candidates with the energy and passion to deliver quality outcomes for Council and our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance and direction to the team; manage performance; identify and plan for current and future staffing needs; lead change; empower team members; develop talent in the team; positively influence key decisions; coach, mentor and develop staff; build trust with team members and key stakeholders.
- Ensure that the Child Family Youth business unit inclusive of activities comply with statutory and legal requirements, especially in the area of risk management, occupational health and safety, Child Safety and equal opportunity and compliance.
- Develop productive relationships, and actively work with local, regional, State and Federal Governments to ensure services are coordinated and well planned and are consistent with local government and industry standards.
- Provide sound and timely strategic advice in relation to Child, Family and Youth inclusive of the development of new programs and activities in conjunction with other service units within Council.
