Band 5 - Salary Range $78,646 to $90,563 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO

Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience.

The Opportunity

The successful applicant will be a highly motivated, team player, with demonstrated experience in using desktop GIS for asset data capture. Tertiary qualifications relevant to the position (e.g. Spatial Sciences, Surveying, Engineering) and some relevant experience, or a lesser formal qualification and relevant experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collate, capture, and digitise Council’s asset data (location and associated attributes) into Council’s Geographic Information Systems and Asset Management System for the benefit of the organisation and external clients.
  • Support data capture documentation, design and mapping programs to ensure data collected is of a high standard.
  • Provide specialist advice and knowledge to staff in relation to Geographic Information Systems, and their capabilities.
  • Improve the integrity of information held within Council’s Geographic Information Systems and Asset Management System.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Tertiary qualification in Spatial Science, Civil Engineering or similar with relevant experience in this field with little or no relevant work experience or lesser formal qualifications with relevant work skills.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Asset Management principles, and infrastructure design, construction and maintenance processes in a Local Government environment.
  • Have developed skills in managing time and organising workloads.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
