The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity to join the Engineering and Asset Services team for a 7-week contract. You will be primarily responsible for the management of Council’s drainage and flooding investigations.
The position reports to the Design & Investigations Coordinator of Engineering Services under the City Delivery directorate.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly investigate customer requests such as drainage and stormwater flooding issues in a timely manner and develop and implement solutions in accordance with industry best practice, Council policy and budgetary requirements to ensure Council is pro-active and responsive to community needs and expectations.
- Provide information and guidance to support the development of storm water infrastructure programs for the Council's Capital Works program, including preparation of project briefs for mitigation works. Procure and coordinate a range of services to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Provide best possible customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
To be Successful in this role:
- Degree in Civil Engineering with some relevant experience, alternatively lesser formal qualification with substantial relevant experience relevant experience.
- Experienced in relevant drainage and flood modelling and design software, including Civil3D, Civil Site Design, AutoCAD, Hec-Ras, and Drains.
- Current valid Victorian drivers licence.
