The Opportunity
A new opportunity has risen for an experienced and self-motivated Service Authority Engineer within Engineering and Landscape Development team of City Infrastructure Planning Unit. The position of the Service Authority Engineer reports to the Coordinator Engineering and Landscape Development.

The Service Authority Engineer will play a significant role in assessing developer’s funded service authority works (public lighting, water, sewer, Trunk services) to ensure works are designed to Council satisfaction, best industry practices and relevant Australian Standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond positively and punctually within specified timelines to customer enquiries and requests and adhere to the performance standards adopted in the Customer Service Charter.
- Process Service Authority Referrals in line with Council requirements and as per the relevant Australian Standards.
- Assessment of LAAN notices and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Record keeping of Service Authority submissions and responses in Council electronic database.
- Attendance in Civil Practical Completion (PC) inspections to ensure service authority assets have been constructed as per approved plans.
- Assess Planning Applications to provide Engineering permit conditions to Planning Unit.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent with relevant experience in an Engineering discipline.
- Experience in design assessment of Service Authority assets related to greenfield residential/industrial developments.
- Proficiency in use of AutoCAD.
- Understanding of the principles of engineering design, construction and maintenance techniques in relation to roads & drainage.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
