The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to deliver diverse literacy and learning programs, including early years initiatives, at our Council libraries and through community outreach services.
Join our dynamic library team where you'll help create exceptional customer experiences and support community education needs through collaborative teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in rostered library customer service shifts at library facilities and Library Access Points.
- When rostered as shift supervisor, provide leadership in the delivery of high-quality customer experience characterised by active engagement.
- Support staff in the delivery of a range of literacy and learning programs, including but not limited to, early years, school years, youth, reader development and digital support.
- Contribute and work effectively in a team environment to promote library services at outreach activities and events.
- Maintain and develop library collections under the guidance of specialist staff.
- Carry out other duties commensurate with skills and abilities as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed from time to time.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- A tertiary qualification acceptable for professional membership (librarian) of the Australian Library and Information Association together with relevant public library experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of community development principles, together with strong knowledge and awareness of the local demographic and issues faced by the community.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in the provision of high-quality library customer experience.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
