The Opportunity
A six-month secondment opportunity is available to work in the Advocacy and Government Relations team. The Advocacy Officer supports the planning and shaping of Council’s advocacy agenda to influence government investment in infrastructure, services and projects.
This is a critical role that supports government relations activity, advocacy campaigns and the Mayor, Councillors and Executive Leadership team to advance key advocacy priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the review and development of Council’s advocacy priorities.
- Research and prepare robust evidence in support of Council’s advocacy priorities.
- Support the implementation of advocacy campaigns.
- Work with relevant staff to develop advocacy action plans.
- Prepare advocacy material including fact sheets, briefing notes, publications, presentations and submissions.
- Support government relations activity including drafting correspondence.
- Prepare and manage web content.
