The Opportunity
Melton City Council seeks a permanent full time Team Leader to manage and oversee the Local Laws / Parking programs for Council. We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to join the leadership team of the Amenity Protection Unit.
The role will report to the Coordinator Amenity Protection and will supervise the Community Safety Officers within the Amenity Protection team. They will liaise with the Community Safety department, Council’s solicitor and various other stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to the management of the Local Laws and Parking enforcement programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day supervision, development and support to the Community Safety Officers within Amenity Protection.
- In conjunction with the coordinator, develop and supervise all aspects of program delivery, which include the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation stages, in accordance with the needs of the stakeholders.
- To monitor the budget, identify discrepancies and assist the coordinator with budget development.
- Oversee and undertake investigations in line with the relevant legislation and preparing or authorising briefs of evidence as required.
- Provide backup to the on-call Officer in the event of an urgent situation or officer safety issues outside of normal hours, as required.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Certificate IV in Animal Regulation and Management & Certificate IV in Government or substantial experience in Local Government enforcement or substantial experience in the field.
- Experience in dealing with complaints or disputes in a professional and diligent manner.
- A current Victorian Firearms License is desirable.
- Current valid Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Must hold or be able to obtain an Employee Working with Children Check.
