The Opportunity

A new exciting opportunity has arisen in the People & Culture team for an experienced, energetic and passionate Talent Acquisition Officer to support the busy Recruitment team on a 12 month fixed term contract. The Talent Acquisition Officer will provide timely assistance to the Recruitment Business Partner to undertake end to end recruitment support, guidance and services to managers and senior leaders within Melton City Council to achieve strategic business and talent management outcomes. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills, the ability to manage multiple roles in tangent and provide exceptional candidate experience.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Organisational Development Coordinator, you will assist the Recruitment Team to provide operational advice and assistance on a range of recruitment activities, including talent strategy, recruitment campaigns and effective onboarding experience.

  • Provide proactive high-quality support to the Recruitment team and manage end to end recruitment process.
  • Enact a positive experience through effective and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, assisting with queries and making recommendations across all recruitment activities.
  • Provide a high level of candidate care with timely and relevant communication to candidates where required
  • Ensure an effective and efficient on-boarding process consistently across the Council
  • Maintain & update candidate records to support the recruitment selection processes

About you

To be successful in this role you will have the following:

  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to confidently and actively engage with a broad range of stakeholders in situations that can be emotionally charged.
  • Excellent commination skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work in a team, analytical aptitude, sense of urgency and strong attention to detail
  • Prior working knowledge of any Applicant Tracking system
  • Willingness to learn and put forward process improvement ideas
