About the role
An exciting opportunity has come up to join Merri-bek Libraries in a customer service and programming role. This is a temporary backfill role while Jake Preval is seconded in an alternate position with Brunswick Library.
The Library Officer is responsible for performing high quality customer service to our diverse community, perform collection maintenance under the direction of the librarian, assist with technology help, promote children’s library services, assist with storytime and rhyme time sessions, class visits, school holiday and other special children’s and youth activities.
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about the community and delivering a positive customer experience
- Knowledge and understanding of child safety and wellbeing requirements and how this applies in a public library setting
- Good teamwork, communication and time management skills
- Ability to assist in children’s program delivery
- Good digital skills
