About the role
The Place Revitalisation Unit at Merri-Bek City Council is responsible for planning and development of Council-owned and other land projects within Merri-Bek’s three activity centres, with a focus on Revitalising Coburg. We take a partnership approach to delivering projects with stakeholders from multiple sectors. We are seeking enthusiastic, driven, and innovative people to help us turn our goals into actions.
Project Manager Place Revitalisation is responsible for carriage of strategic projects. The area of accountability includes project planning, procurement, technical due diligence and assisting in preparation of material for review by Senior Management. This period will see a focus on Revitalising Coburg and a range of projects required to process this program.
Skills and experience required to perform this role
- Senior project management experience or potential in an urban revitalisation context.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent budgeting and financial management skills in leading complex projects and managing multiple and varied contracts/contractors.
- Specialist skills complemented with deep experience in fostering a proactive culture of risk identification and mitigation in project management deliverables.
- Experience in preparing and presenting briefing papers and presentations reports to senior executives and/or elected officials.
- Proven experience effectively managing issues within a highly political and complex environment.
- A relevant tertiary qualification to degree level in property, architecture, planning, construction or project management, and/or significant relevant experience.
