  • Salary:  Band 5 - $84k - $95k + Super (pro-rata)
  • Part time, maximum term – 2 days / 12 hours per week
  • Duration:  Backfill from 05 December 2024 to 07 February 2025

About the role 

The role facilitates quality home-based childcare for families and provides appropriate monitoring and support to Educators.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct regular home monitoring and support visits to Educators.
  • Regularly monitor that the provision of childcare meets the FDC Service Agreement obligations and the National Quality Framework requirements.
  • Support the implementation of educational programs in the service.
  • Liaise with other FDC Educational Leaders to develop and support the implementation of educational programs in the service to build educators capacity.
  • Build educators’ capacity in relation to observations, planning and the provision of educational programs for children that meet the outcomes of the National Quality Framework.
  • Ensure the Coordinator and management are regularly informed about the families, Educators and the service.
  • Respond to general enquiries
  • Maintain files, systems and programs in Harmony software.
  • Maintain accurate home monitoring and support visit records or any other records relating to Educators and children in care as required by law.
  • Conduct health and Home Safety Checks at Educator’s homes.
  • Ensure records are maintained in a confidential manner.
  • Ensure complaints are followed up promptly and appropriately
  • Ensure effective communication with families and promote information exchange.
  • Liaise with other community agencies involved with children and families using FDC.
  • Responsible for participating in the rostered FDC out-of-hours on call support system to Educators.
  • Make appropriate recommendations to the Educators and/or families within the parameters of service policies.
  • Responsible for making decisions within a range of established policies and guidelines.
  • Guidance and advice are available from the Children’s Services Coordinator

Qualifications and experience required to perform the role 

  • Minimum Diploma of Early Childhood or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in children’s services.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the functions of the position.
  • Experience with families and children from CALD backgrounds.
  • Current Victorian driver’s licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check or VIT.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
