SENIOR PILOT VESSEL MASTER
About the Role
The Senior Pilot Vessel Master primary function is to coordinate the day to day operational management of the Pilot Launch Transfer Service within Gladstone Marine Pilot Services.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide oversight and manage the pilot launch scheduling with emphasis on the continuity of service and the even distribution of transfer duties and maintenance tasks among the crew on roster at the time;
- Develop and implement the recognition and implementation of a maintenance program to ensure the company’s vessels are maintained to the best possible standards and in accordance with all relevant legislation;
- Perform maintenance as directed on the company’s vessels and vehicles as needed;
- Carry out the safe transfer of personnel from ship to ship or ship to shore at all times maintaining the highest levels of safety awareness;
- Schedule and conduct regular training in pilot transfer, search and rescue, and other emergency response procedures consistent with legislative requirements - maintaining maximum capability and readiness among the crew.
ASSISTANT SENIOR PILOT VESSEL MASTER
About the Role
The Assistant Senior Pilot Vessel Master primary function is to provide assistance to the Senior Pilot Vessel Master in the coordination of the day to day operational management of the Pilot Launch Transfer Service within Gladstone Marine Pilot Services.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide oversight and manage the pilot launch scheduling with emphasis on the continuity of service and the even distribution of transfer duties and maintenance tasks among the crew on roster at the time;
- Understudy all aspects of the Senior Pilot Vessel Master role, to provide relief coverage in their absence (for absences of less than one full swing);
- Provide coverage in the Flex role in the Launch Crew roster;
- Assist with the development and implementation of a maintenance program to ensure the company’s vessels are maintained to the best possible standards and in accordance with all relevant legislation;
- Assist with the provision of on the job training for new personnel.
