About the role
Are you wanting a break from your current role? Keen to upskill in a different area of maintenance? This opportunity is for you to join the Water Management Team until July 2024. This is temporary backfill role while the Irrigation Maintenance Technician goes on Long Service Leave. The Irrigation Technician is responsible for overseeing all areas of maintenance including ovals, park spaces and stormwater harvesting sites. The role reports directly to the Water Management Officer.
Each day is different and some of the tasks you will be involved in are....
- Auditing irrigation systems
- Machine operation
- Repair of irrigation systems
- Working with various departments
- Storm water harvest system maintenance
What we are looking for
We are looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about the outdoors, this is a role where no two days are the same
- An understanding or willingness to learn aspects of Irrigation
- Able to thrive in a new job set
Skills and experience required to perform the role
- Computer Skills – programming and emailing
- Machinery experience preferred but not essential
- Possess a continuous improvement mindset
