Position Overview

The Grants Economic Development Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Economic Development initiatives of the Council. This position focuses on assisting with the identification, sourcing, and facilitation of funding and grant applications that benefit our community and infrastructure projects. The role will also prioritise maximising opportunities within the Moree Special Activation Precinct.

You will be instrumental in building the capacity of both the Council and the wider community, enabling successful grant applications and ensuring compliance with Council policies and procedures.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award 2023.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a motivated individual who possesses a blend of relevant qualifications and experience, along with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Certificate IV qualifications in Economic Development, Business, Commerce, Social Sciences, or relevant professional experience.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills to support a cohesive team environment and build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, initiative, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Effective organisational skills, capable of managing time and priorities under pressure to achieve accurate outcomes.

The successful candidate will be adaptable, eager to learn, and committed to making a positive impact within the community and the Council's operations.

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $68,325 to $78,572, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
