Position Overview
The Inventory & Purchasing Officer plays a crucial role in maintaining optimum stock levels and managing our store's information system. This position ensures compliance with Council’s Procurement Policies and Procedures, aiming for the best outcomes for the community.
As an integral member of our team, you will need to be a friendly, dynamic, and energetic individual with experience in stores or road construction, capable of prioritising tasks, meeting deadlines, and working accurately under pressure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile stock levels, reporting discrepancies to the Accounting Officer (Procurement).
- Assist in the procurement process, including sourcing quotations and raising purchase orders.
- Monitor stock usage to minimise waste and ensure efficient ordering practices.
- Provide exceptional customer service and relevant information to internal and external clients.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in inventory management and purchasing, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as is a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Certificate III (or higher) in Procurement, Financial Services, or Business.
- Relevant experience in stock control and ordering processes.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated computer literacy with experience in computerised stock systems.
- Current Class C Driver License and Forklift License (LF) preferred.
