The Liverpool NSW Bakery is our largest site in APAC, employing over 300 team members and comprising four manufacturing areas, including a fresh buns, frozen bakery products, cakes and desserts.

The Role:

Are you a qualified maintenance fitter passionate about driving mechanical efficiencies and optimizing equipment performance in a dynamic manufacturing environment?

 

We're looking for a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team based at our Liverpool fresh bakery in the afternoon shift. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure smooth production processes and machinery operation through preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and responsive breakdown attendance.

 

Working Hours:

Afternoon shift - Tuesday to Saturday from 6am to 10.15pm

 

The opportunity for paid overtime is available, and you may also be required to cover team members' leave as needed. 

 

Main Responsibilities include:

  • Management of end-to-end processes and equipment performance on the line.
  • Preventive maintenance on designated equipment.
  • End of week shut down tasks and activities
  • Testing and calibration activities associated with the line and related process equipment.
  • Identifies defects, corrective and preventative maintenance and engages in predictive analysis.
  • Participates in development work and projects including installation and commissioning.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving technical or mechanical problems.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities across the line.
  • Assist in contractor supervision
  • Adhere to and apply all site-specific Policies & Procedures, including, but not limited to GMP, Glass Handling, HACCP, WHS, Environmental, LOTO, Confined Space, Boiler Operation.

 

About You:

The successful candidate will be a do-er, results-driven, highly organized, detail-oriented and prepared to be hands on when required.

 

To thrive in this role, you will have:

  • Trade Certificate: Fitting and Machining or other relevant Mechanical Qualifications.
  • Competent welder using TIG / MIG / Stick/ Oxy Acetylene.
  • Competent using Lathe, milling and radial drill machines.
  • Competent following and applying Pneumatic & Hydraulic schematics.
  • Restricted Electrical License preferable with basic electrical knowledge.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Computer Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Report writing e.g. work order reports.
  • Must be able to read technical drawings and sketch parts.
  • Lubrication Fundamentals - lubrication effects on equipment and applications
  • FMCG/Food or pharmaceutical manufacture work experience will be highly regarded.
  • Effective Communication and superior attention to detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the role.
