The Opportunity:

A great opportunity has become available for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the team at our Liverpool NSW bakery.

 

Reporting to the Engineering Manager on-site and leading a team of mechanical and electrical technicians, this key role will be responsible for planning and directing in-plant maintenance programs to ensure the equipment is maintained, efficient and safe in order to meet daily production demands.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Engineering Manager in maintaining the plant equipment in a safe and operational state of readiness in order to meet daily production requirements.
  • Establish and maintains effective working relationships with colleagues, key stakeholders and cross functional teams.
  • Facilitate open communication with Team members and department leaders to ensure equipment issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Provide after-hours support as required for the engineering team during urgent breakdowns or safety/food safety incidents.
  • Lead maintenance activities, including scheduled work orders and maintenance down days (Fridays and Saturdays).
  • Oversee engineering staff rosters to ensure appropriate coverage during production and non-production hours.
  • Supervise the maintenance team, monitoring performance, offering guidance, mentoring and development as needed.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, including preventative maintenance schedules, machine history, purchase orders, and capital expenditure requests.
  • Manage critical spare parts inventory to ensure timely ordering and availability.
  • Ensure compliance with ARYZTA quality policies and procedures related to food safety, product quality, safety, and environment.

 

About You:

We are looking for an experienced, action-oriented Maintenance Manager with strong people leadership skills and the ability to build solid relationships with key stakeholders.

 

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering trade qualification or an engineering degree as a minimum level of education.
  • Previous experience in FMCG/Food manufacturing or a relevant industry.
  • 5+ years’ experience leading a maintenance team.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive change, people development and teams engagement.
  • The ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, managing multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) and knowledge of preventative maintenance programs. MEX CMMs experience will be highly regarded.
  • Flexibility with working schedules and availability for afterhours and Saturday work when required.
