The Opportunity
We're looking for two casual process workers to join our dedicated Australian Disability Enterprise team in North Ryde. The service provides long term supported employment for people in a production setting.
Working hours will be on call Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm on a casual on call basis.
You will report to the Production Manager in our Enabling and Life Building Customer Segment. Key responsibilities will include:
- Packaging finished goods
- Labelling
- Palletising
- Use of Electric Pallet Mover
- Use of Hand Pallet jack
- Operation of machines (after receiving comprehensive training)
- Assisting supported employees to complete tasks and develop skills by providing individual and group support
- Completing allocated work to meet New Horizons contractual obligations
- Establishing and maintaining links to local services
- Maintaining safe work practices to ensure the ongoing safety of our people
- Implementing continuous quality improvement actions, to ensure compliance with funder requirements and legislative standards
Skill and Experience:
- Minimum two years experience in a process work position within a production/manufacturing environment;
- Experience in using Microsoft Office
- A well-developed understanding of work health and safety practices
- A current NSW drivers licence
- A can do attitude and a professional approach to working as a part of a team
- Willingness to undertake a diverse range of tasks as required
- Be able to perform tasks that require some physical activity including heavy lifting
- Willingness to obtain an Australian Federal Police Check and WWCC that meet New Horizons employment criteria prior to commencing
- Hands on experience working within the disability sector will be highly regarded
