The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced and resourceful payroll superstar to manage fortnightly payroll for auto pay and rostered timesheet staff across the organisation, using the ADP pay force system.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity operating between the hours of 8am - 5pm Monday to Friday.  

Based in North Ryde, you will report to the Payroll Manager as part of our Finance Division. The successful incumbent will have the ability to work with minimal supervision using an eye for detail to complete the pay run end to end. As part of the Payroll Team you'll have the opportunity to learn and grow, acting up in a payroll manager position as required.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing payroll transactions including fortnightly timesheets via EmpLive (Rosterlive);
  • Processing termination payments, salary packaging and new starter on boarding;
  • Liaising with, and acting as a central point of contact for staff and managers;
  • Responding to email enquiries and managing payroll enquiries to meet service level agreement’s;
  • Managing last minute changes, providing responsive solutions that meet the needs of stakeholder groups;
  • Prioritising competing demands to get the job done accurately;
  • Ensuring procedures and documentation are maintained accurately and timely;
  • Manage in the absence of the Payroll Manager the balancing and reconciliation of PAYG, FBT, superannuation, annual group certificates, processing monthly payroll journal into accounting system, reconciling payroll balance sheet account and providing assistance to managers/accountant with monthly wages costing variance;
  • Managing the balancing and reconciliation of salary packaging, union fees and other authorised payroll deductions etc.

Skill and Experience:

  • Minimum three years experience in a demanding fast paced payroll position;
  • Experience using an enterprise-wide payroll systems (ADP Payforce experience will be a distinct advantage);
  • Proven intermediate or expert ability across all Microsoft Office programs with emphasis on Excel;
  • Adaptable/flexible mindset and work ethic;
  • Experience with tailoring communication style to build effective relationships across all levels within our organisation;
  • Attention to detail and an intentional commitment to deliver accurate and timely documentation/processes;
  • Proven ability to analyse and translate data into meaningful reports;
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision;
  • Proven experience providing solution focused advice within tight timeframes;
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise Outlook and navigate Internet based platforms;
  • Experience processing payroll month end journal and payroll balance sheet account reconciliation.
