Disability Support Worker

An artistic female in her 60s is seeking a worker for 1 - 2 days per week. She is highly social and has a flare for art, drama and music. The role is set in a fast-paced support environment and requires a high level of personal care and domestic assistance. As she is living in the family home with a sibling, part of the support role is helping to maintain the sustainability of the living arrangement. Support is required to encourage the her to contribute to the household, and ensure family members who are primary caregivers are able to take respite. The successful applicant will be highly professional and be able blend into the family unit seamlessly. They will demonstrate the knowledge, awareness and ability required to support the individual within a complex family environment and willingly take on any tasks that support the family as a unit.

 

The Role:

  • Personal Care
  • In-Home Support
  • Domestic Assistance
  • Community access
  • Attending appointments

*Knowledge and understanding of Williams Syndrome highly desirable*

 

Shifts:

  • Tuesdays 9am – 6pm
  • Thursdays 9am – 6pm
  • Ad-hoc overnight shifts when family are away
  • Additional cover shifts for staff on leave

Essential requirements:

  • +3 years experience disability support work
  • Experience working in a family environment
  • Non-Smoker
  • Open Driver’s License and own vehicle with insurance
  • Live within reasonable travelling distance
  • Current First Aid Certificate & CPR
  • NDIS Worker Screening/Yellow Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Blue Card (Working with Children Card) (or willing to obtain)
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Flexibility to pick up additional hours when needed
  • Full Working rights in Australia
