About the role

Northern Grampians Shire Council is seeking a talented and enthusiastic Administration Officer to join our Governance Team. This permanent, part-time position offers the opportunity to work from home as well as in the office, allowing you to achieve work-life balance while making a difference in our community.  Please note: You will be regularly required to work in the office.  Therefore we request that you reside within commuting distance of Stawell.

As an Administration Officer, your main objective will be to provide high-level administrative support to the Governance Team. You will have the opportunity to work with a range of internal and external stakeholders, ensuring the effective delivery of Governance services.

Your responsibilities will include:-

  • Handling highly confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism and discretion;
  • Supporting and assisting the Records Officer and Governance Officer in the Governance Team; 
  • Preparing high-quality written correspondence.- Maintaining key registers and access to Council properties; 
  • Assisting in the maintenance of Council and Governance website pages and portals; 
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of formal Governance policies and procedures; 
  • Assisting in the preparation and distribution of Council/Councillor briefings, agendas, and papers; 
  • Performing other duties within the limits of your skill, competence, and training as directed.

To excel in this role, you will need to have a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Your enthusiastic demeanour, initiative, and willingness to support the team will be highly valued.
