The Role
This position is responsible for connecting patrons and visitors with the information and resources to enhance lifelong learning.Responsibilities Include
- Assist library patrons and community members to source materials and information, borrow, reserve, renew and return library materials.
- Develop and deliver programs and services to the community, including but not limited to storytelling, school holiday programs, housebound services, class visits and related activities/events.
- File/store all library stock correctly to ensure resources are easily accessible.
- Collect payments for library services and products.
- Operate and assist patrons in the use of ICT equipment.
- Mend and repair library items.
- Actively promote library resources to the community regularly.
- Perform, as directed, other duties that are within the limits of the incumbents’ skill, competence and training.
Qualifications and experience
- Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent experience in a similar field.
Selection criteria
- Demonstrated numeracy, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer service experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of a variety of computer hardware and software programs.
