Salary Range from: $97,295.20 to $116,179.48 pa + 10% superannuation
+ access to pool or private leaseback vehicle or $9,000 pa vehicle offset allowance
35 hours per week with access to flexi time

A full time opportunity currently exists for an experienced transport planner to join our busy and dedicated Strategic Planning team within City Strategy.
This role will oversee the development, review and maintenance of our comprehensive transport and access policy framework across Council, while promoting the strategic vision for transport in the North Sydney area.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an excellent communicator with extensive experience in transport planning and policy along with:
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications or significant experience in transport planning or related discipline
- Demonstrated experience in and passion for transport planning including knowledge of principles and techniques of transport planning and traffic management including an understanding of sustainable transport issues (e.g. travel demand management, walking cycling, public transport)
- Demonstrated research and analytical skills including the ability to undertake and analyse traffic and transport surveys
- Demonstrated ability to resolve complex transport planning issues with proven problem solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, to a high quality and within budget
- Demonstrated experience in providing technical advice on transport planning or policy proposals
- Demonstrated experience in resolving competing demands and preparing sound, collaborative and reasoned transport policy
- Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, as well as customer service, conflict resolution, negotiation and presentation skills

- Computer literacy skills
Desirable
- Experience working with legislation and regulations
- Local Government knowledge or experience
