Salary from: $73,843.57 to $88,173.13 pa + 10.5% superannuation 

+ $1,000 pa transport allowance 

35 hours per week with access to flexi time 

 

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

 

About the opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Executive Coordinator to provide executive administrative and technical support to the Director and Department Managers across the various functions of our Corporate Services division.

This position will oversee a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative tasks including duties to support our corporate services business units, correspondence writing, document preparation and project coordination.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated administration professional to utilise their strong interpersonal skills and initiative to ensure positive and effective working relationships with staff across Council as well as external stakeholders.

Up to two days working from home can be negotiated. Flexible with start and finish times. 

 

About you

To be successful, you will have experience providing executive support at a senior level, with a confident ability in using Microsoft Office suite. 

You will have excellent planning, organisational and time management skills with the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities under limited direction. 

You truly enjoy supporting various departments, working closely with multiple stakeholders and are equally capable of working autonomously when required.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, with a proven track record of supporting key projects and initiatives to assist senior leaders in meeting the objectives of the organisation. 

 

The ideal candidate will also demonstrate that they meet the following selection criteria:

Essential

  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications or extensive experience in a similar role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills in order to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines under pressure and manage competing interests
  • Sound writing skills
  • The ability to meet deadlines, use own initiative and prioritise own work
  • Sound experience in dealing with customers/clients in a related environment
  • Strong project management skills

Desirable

  • Confident user of systems
  • Driver’s Licence
  • Knowledge or/experience in Local Government or willingness to attend training
  • Vaccinated against COVID-19
