+ 10.5% superannuation
+ Access to Pool Vehicle or $9,000 pa Vehicle Offset allowance
35 hours per week with access to flexi time

We are seeking an experienced and progressive individual to lead Council’s diverse Traffic and Transport Operations, on-street parking supply, road safety, sustainable transport and parking meter operations.
This role is responsible for the planning, development and implementation of Council’s traffic management, traffic planning, parking policies and sustainable transport management. You will be responsible for identifying present and future traffic planning and traffic management needs within the Council area, formulating a traffic facilities works program that will meet policy objectives and submitting this to Council for approval. The position is also accountable for the management of the Traffic Committee, which requires the preparation of agenda items, investigations and reports for Traffic Committee consideration and the implementation of Traffic Committee decisions.
The successful applicant will be experienced in implementing traffic management initiatives, traffic planning and parking policies, parking meter management and sustainable transport management including the roll out of Councils adopted Cycleways Strategy and accompanying Capital Works Program.

Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in Traffic Engineering/Planning or equivalent
- Knowledge of principles and techniques of traffic engineering, transport planning and traffic management
- Experience in Traffic Engineering Design/Traffic Planning and Management
- Demonstrated supervisory and people management experience
- Experience working with relevant legislation and regulations.
- Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare comprehensive reports
- Oral communication skills with demonstrated experience in public speaking and presenting to groups.
- Influence and negotiation skills
- Strong organising, planning and prioritising skills
- Experience with the Microsoft suite of programs
Desirable
- Civil Engineering degree
- Knowledge of professional and industrial developments
- Vaccinated against COVID-19
