The Events Team is seeking Expressions of Interest from staff to assist with the North Sydney Festival on Saturday 2nd November 2024.
Position: Event Assistant (Bump-In & Bump-Out)
Overview:
Support event setup (bump-in) and pack-down (bump-out) for smooth execution of festival logistics. Assist with infrastructure, vendor coordination, and general event operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bump-In (Setup):
- Assist in setting up stages, tents, signage, and equipment.
- Ensure all materials and infrastructure are in place before the event starts.
- Vendor & Contractor Coordination:
- Support vendors during setup, ensuring compliance with event layout.
- Liaise with contractors for equipment delivery and setup.
- Event Operations:
- Provide on-ground support during the event, helping with logistics and crowd management.
- Respond to issues and assist the event manager as needed.
- Bump-Out (Pack-Down):
- Help dismantle and pack away equipment, signage, and structures.
- Ensure the site is cleared and returned to pre-event condition.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move equipment and work outdoors.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Position: Information Tent Event Assistant - Customer Service
Overview:
Assist festival attendees by providing information, directions, and support. Serve as the first point of contact for event inquiries, helping create a positive experience for all visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visitor Assistance:
- Answer questions about event schedules, locations, and services.

- Direct attendees to key areas (stages, food stalls, restrooms, first aid).
- Material Distribution:
- Hand out event maps, guides, and schedules.
- Keep information up-to-date for attendees.
- Lost & Found:
- Manage lost and found items and assist attendees with lost belongings.
- Customer Service:
- Address attendee concerns or issues with professionalism.
- Provide safety and emergency instructions when needed.
- Communication Hub:
- Relay important updates from the event team to attendees and volunteers.
Requirements:
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment.
