An exciting internal opportunity is now available within our Ranger Services team for a motivated individual who is passionate about delivering outstanding customer service to the public.
The Role
Based at the Central Works Depot in Cammeray, this role involves monitoring parking, ensuring public safety in parks, dog control, noise and water pollution control, litter control, investigating complaints, and the general overseeing of Council’s ovals and community centres.
The Person
You will be a strong communicator who is experienced in dealing with high pressure situations, along with demonstrated conflict resolution skills. The successful candidate will be a team player who is comfortable following directives with the ability to interpret and apply Council policies and procedures. You will also exhibit professional qualities as a representative of Council within our local community.
Shifts are spread over 7 days from 5.30 am to midnight.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated capacity to work to a very high standard without direct supervision
- Demonstrated ability to interpret relevant legislation and articulate legislation to customers
- Extensive experience in policing statutory requirements and regulations
- Demonstrated high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated excellence in customer service
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communications skills and computer literacy
- Demonstrated ability to work co-operatively in a small team environment
- Demonstrated resilience in coping with stressful situations
- Demonstrable capacity to perform physically demanding tasks
- Proven ability and capacity to work under and adhere to published rosters
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
Desirable Criteria
- WH&S Induction and Training for Construction Work (Green Card)
- Evidence of successful completion of the Law Enforcement Officers Program

Salary from: $75,283 to $89,892 pa + 11.5% superannuation + 20.33% pa shift allowance + Tool-of-Trade Leaseback Vehicle
76-hour fortnight - worked across a 7-day roster
