Are you an experienced and dynamic leader with a passion for large-scale events? North Sydney Council is seeking an enthusiastic Event Operations Team Leader to lead the operations behind some of the most high-profile and exciting public and cultural events within the North Sydney LGA.

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.

 

The role 

Step into the spotlight as our Event Operations Team Leader, where you’ll be the powerhouse behind some of North Sydney’s most iconic events. From vibrant community festivals to the show stopping New Year’s Eve celebration, you’ll lead the charge in turning big ideas into extraordinary experiences. With energy, precision, and creativity, you’ll take the reins on planning and logistics, ensuring every event runs seamlessly and leaves a lasting impression.

A the Event Operations Team Leader, you’ll oversee the full spectrum of event operations—approving permits, coordinating with third-party organisers, and managing everything from infrastructure and site setup to crowd control and risk management. Every detail counts, and you’ll make sure it all aligns with Council’s high standards for safety, quality, value and enjoyment! 

Your background in large-scale event operations and project management will be your secret weapon as you juggle timelines, budgets, and competing priorities without missing a beat. You’ll work hand-in-hand with a skilled, passionate team and collaborate across Council departments to deliver events that truly reflect the energy and spirit of the North Sydney community.

it is an essential  requirement of this role that a Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (WWCC) is conducted. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment.

 

Salary from: $120,811 to $144,257 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + $1,000 pa transport allowance 

35 hours per week with access to flexi time
