North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.
The role
Join the action in a role where every day is a creative adventure, where you’ll guide a talented team to develop and deliver a diverse and imaginative program of arts initiatives—from public art installations and placemaking projects to community arts programs and creative space activations. Everything you create will reflect the unique character of North Sydney and will be a reflection of the community’s spirit, stories, and imagination.
You’ll be a key advocate for the role of culture in our community, championing inclusive and diverse creative programs. Your deep appreciation for the arts and commitment to community engagement will shine through as you help embed cultural thinking into Council’s strategies, policies, and planning documents. It’s all about shaping a cultural identity that’s authentic, inspiring, and proudly local.

it is an essential requirement of this role that a Police Clearance and Working with Children Check (WWCC) is conducted. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment.
Salary from: $110,558 to $132,016 per annum + 11.5% superannuation + $1,000 pa transport allowance
35 hours per week with access to flexi time
