We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Greenkeeper to join our high performing Sportsfields team for the maintenance of specialised playing fields and their surrounds within the North Sydney area.
North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD.
The role
This role involves a range of detailed turf and field maintenance duties. You will be responsible for maintaining playing surfaces through tasks such as levelling, mowing, turfing, identifying and treating weeds, topdressing, and applying chemicals as needed. You will ensure irrigation is conducted optimally and apply fertilisers, herbicides, and pesticides to achieve maximum turf cover and ensure playing fields remain safe, functional, and visually attractive for public use.
Greenkeeper duties will also include but not limited to field and wicket preparation for both cricket and all winter sports, pest, weed, and disease identification, turf renovation practices, irrigation, and machinery operation. Monitoring downtime due to wet weather and striving to reduce the number of lost days will also be part of your responsibilities.
Due to the Events based nature of our work the successful applicant may be required to work some weekends and evenings at major sporting and other related events.

Salary Range: $71,647 to $85,719 per annum (incl. allowance) + 11.5% super + $1,000 pa transport allowance
Uniform Provided - 76 hours per fortnight with a rostered day off
