Trades & Fleet Services Administrator

Job No: NSYD509
Location: North Sydney

Step into a multifaceted position that is more than admin—it’s the engine behind reliable council services that people depend on every day!

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands, and a bustling CBD. Our aim is to ensure North Sydney remains a welcoming, well-designed, safe and beautiful environment for residents, workers and visitors.

The Role

The Trades & Fleet Services Administrator plays a vital role in supporting Council operations across trade services, public domain lighting, contracts administration, and fleet management. Through accurate record-keeping, compliance, and streamlined coordination, this role ensures work is delivered safely, reliably, and efficiently.

You will provide administrative and technical support for Trades Services—handling scheduling, contractor coordination, and job tracking—while keeping detailed records of equipment, services, and contractor performance. Within Contracts Administration, you’ll manage contract documentation, assist with procurements and renewals, and ensure compliance within Council frameworks.

In the Public Domain Lighting maintenance area, you’ll maintain asset data and schedule upkeep in line with safety standards, liaising with lighting contractors and internal teams. For Fleet Management, you’ll support maintenance scheduling, insurance and registration tracking, driver and asset documentation, and reporting on utilisation, costs, and compliance.

The Person

You’re a pro at using Excel to manage data, staying composed when things get busy, and juggling multiple priorities across a range of service areas. Your background in logistics or contract administration, eye for detail, and strong communication skills will set you apart.
