Transport Assets Officer

Due to State funding from Transport for NSW we are currently seeking expressions of interest for a temporary opportunity as a Transports Assets Officer until the end of June 2026 within our Traffic and Transport Operations team. 

North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area (LGA) on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands and a bustling CBD. 

There are a number of significant state projects underway in the North Sydney LGA which require ongoing input from Council. The successful candidate will advocate on behalf of the local community to minimise negative impacts and achieve improved traffic, transport and streetscape solutions associated with these projects. The role provides support to the Service Unit Manager Traffic & Transport Operations and will provide technical traffic and transport advice in relation to construction and building activities on Council land associated with State Government projects. This position will also have the responsibility to assess, issue and regulate conditions for permit applications, provide technical assessment of Construction Traffic Management Plans and provide accurate and traffic and parking changes.

Temporary Contract to end of June 2026

Salary range from: $98,226 to $117,291 per annum + 3.5% Civil allowance + 12% superannuation + $1,000 pa transport allowance 

35 hours per week with access to flexi time
