As a pivotal part of the Planning and Environment Division, our Ranger and Parking Services Department plays a crucial role in maintaining public safety and compliance, while also enhancing community satisfaction through effective service delivery.

 

The role 

Based at the Central Depot in Cammeray, the Service Unit Manager for Ranger and Parking Services, will take the helm in steering the department towards operational excellence and strategic growth. Your leadership will ensure that all services are delivered with integrity and fairness, aligning with our corporate values and community expectations.

You will also be responsible for: 

  • Providing strategic oversight and operational leadership for the Ranger and Parking Services Department.
  • Empowering and develop team members, fostering a culture of mutual respect and collaboration.
  • Managing departmental budgets effectively, ensuring financial targets are met and exceeded.
  • Implementing innovative solutions to enhance community education and stakeholder engagement.

The person

To be successful, you will have experience in leading teams, building capability, and improving systems. You know how to balance compliance with good decision-making, strong judgment and high integrity. You are organised, calm under pressure, and comfortable managing competing priorities through taking ownership and setting a strong example.

Our ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in management, business, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience managing a diverse workforce in a customer-focused regulatory environment.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong background in financial management.
  • Strong stakeholder management capabilities with the ability to navigate competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • High-level communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to de-escalate confrontational situations effectively.
  • A commitment to ethical conduct and high work standards.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.

TRP Range: $180,000 to $215,900 per annum (inclusive of 12% superannuation and Annualised allowance)

35 hours per week
