The role 

We are seeking 10 x Casual and 21 x Part Time motivated and experienced Lifeguards to join our North Sydney Olympic Pool (NSOP) team. 

You will work alongside Senior Lifeguards and Duty Managers to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality operations, bringing energy, awareness, and a strong customer focus to every shift to ensure a positive experience for all patrons.

During your shifts, you’ll support incident response, maintain compliance and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the facility. Be part of an exciting new facility from day one, helping shape team culture and set the standard for safety and customer experience.

The Centre is a 7-day operation, Monday to Friday 5:30am to 9pm and Weekends 7am to 7pm.

Lifeguard shifts will operate:

Weekdays - opening shifts from 4:45 am and closing shifts at 9:45 pm.

Weekends - opening shifts from 6:15 am and closing shifts at 7:45 pm.

 
The person 

You’re a confident and capable lifeguard with strong supervision skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent situational awareness.

You communicate clearly, remain calm under pressure, and contribute positively to a team-focused environment. We are looking for lifeguards who take pride in their work and are committed to creating a safe, high-quality experience to our community every day.

 
Essential Criteria 
  • Current qualifications in Senior First Aid, CPR, and Pool Lifeguard (recognised in NSW).
  • Demonstrated experience in public swimming pool supervision.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
  • Knowledge of WHS requirements in the Leisure Industry, including GSPO, Practice Note 15, and the Public Swimming Pools and Spa Pool Advisory Document.
 
Desirable Criteria 
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in public swimming pool operations and plant room management.
  • Current Pool Operations Certificate.
  • Experience and knowledge of local government practices, regulations, and policies.
  • Additional qualifications or experience in the leisure industry (e.g. swim teaching, fitness, customer service, creche) are advantageous.

PART TIME 

Hourly rate from: $31.04 to $36.98 per hour + 12% superannuation + transport allowance 

10 x roles - Permanent 20 hours per week 

11 x roles - Permanent 15 hours per week 

Weekend penalties apply

 

CASUAL 

Hourly rate from: $38.80 to $46.22 per hour (incl. casual loading) + 12% superannuation 

10 x roles available  

Weekend penalties apply
