Gym Instructors - Part Time
Job No:
NSYD587
Location:
North Sydney
She's back! Be part of something extraordinary at Sydney’s most iconic aquatic and leisure facility.
This is your chance to dive in and be part of the next chapter at North Sydney Olympic Pool - a world-class aquatic and fitness destination beneath the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Following her redevelopment, this Australian legend is set to redefine leisure industry excellence, and we’re seeking passionate individuals to help shape the culture and deliver outstanding experiences for our community.
North Sydney Council proudly owns and operates North Sydney Olympic Pool as part of its commitment to the vibrant North Sydney local government area on the city’s picturesque lower North Shore. With around 400 employees supporting 77,000 residents across 10 square kilometres of harbourside land, Council is committed to creating exceptional places and services that bring people together. You’ll join a dedicated team working in a safe, inclusive environment — where both staff and the community can thrive.
The role
We’re looking for 7 x Part Time confident, charismatic Gym Instructors / Personal Trainers to join the newly redeveloped North Sydney Gym, located within the iconic North Sydney Olympic Pool. We hire on work ethic, people skills and team mentality, not just qualifications. This role centres on delivering outstanding member consultations, high‑quality personal training sessions, and making every member feel welcome, supported and confident from day one. The primary purpose of this role is to be the friendly, charismatic, engaging face of the gym, delivering supreme customer service and ensuring all members feel welcome, safe and supported.
The big upside? We literally pay you to build your PT business. During rostered shifts, you’re paid to conduct consultations that naturally convert into high‑quality PT leads — allowing you to grow a strong client base around your rostered hours. Providing exceptional customer service and being the face of this brand‑new facility is a key daily priority. You’ll be supported with training, structure and leadership, access to a premium facility with brand‑new equipment, and a motivated member base ready to train.
We’re intentionally building a positive and supportive culture focused on shared PT goals, collaboration and lifting each other up — not competing against one another. With true work-life flexibility, this is a rare opportunity to help shape the culture of one of Sydney’s most iconic fitness destinations while growing something meaningful of your own.
Build a secure foundation of permanent gym floor shifts, then grow your Personal Training business on top of a guaranteed weekly income.
The person
You’re confident, personable, and thrive on connecting with people, making members feel welcome, safe and supported from their very first session. You bring strong work ethic, positive energy, and a genuine commitment to helping others achieve results.
You’re motivated to grow your own PT business but value team success over ego, contributing to a collaborative, high‑performing gym culture. Reliable, professional, and comfortable being the face of the facility, you take pride in delivering great service and want to be part of a tight‑knit team building something special.
