The role 

As a Group Fitness Instructor, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging, and safe group fitness classes that inspire members and keep them coming back.

You’ll play a key part in shaping the member experience — bringing energy, professionalism, and personality to every class, while contributing to a positive and inclusive fitness environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Deliver engaging, safe, and results-driven group fitness classes
  • Create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive class environment
  • Motivate members through energy, coaching, and connection
  • Demonstrate correct technique and provide regressions/progressions
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service before, during, and after class
  • Ensure studios are clean, safe, and well-presented
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and maintain current qualifications
  • Take ownership of your schedule, including reliable attendance and cover management
  • Promote classes and programs — acting as a brand ambassador for NSOP
  • Contribute to a positive team culture, including attendance at meetings where possible

  • BODYPUMP, BODYBALANCE, BODYATTACK, BODYCOMBAT, SHAPES
  • Mat Pilates, Reformer Pilates
  • Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga
  • DanceFit, Zumba, Zumba Gold
  • Shallow Aqua, Deep Aqua
  • Boxing
 
The person 

We’re looking for instructors who teach the classes listed above and bring more than just qualifications — we want presence, passion, and professionalism.

 

Essential Criteria 
  • Minimum Cert III in Fitness, GEL, or equivalent
  • Current qualifications relevant to all classes delivered
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Current NSW Working With Children Clearance
  • Ability to meet WHS and child safety requirements
 
Desirable Criteria 
  • Multiple group exercise qualifications
  • Industry experience delivering classes
  • Experience in a similar facility or local government environment
  • Additional fitness/leisure industry qualifications

It is an essential requirement of this role that a Working with Children Check (WWCC) is conducted. It is an offence under NSW legislation for barred workers to apply for or otherwise attempt to obtain, undertake or remain in child-related employment.

 

CASUAL 

Base hourly rate: $38.80 per hour (incl. casual loading) + pay top up + 12% superannuation

Total rates for a Standard 45-minute single class will range from: $60, $65 or $75 per class

Total rates for an Express 30-minute single class will range from: $40, $43.33 or $50 per class

(Single class rates is a combination of the base hourly rate, penalties and pay top up. Level of appointment will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and performance)

 

Shifts will be scheduled between: 

Monday to Friday from 5:30am to 9:30pm 

Weekends from 7:00am to 7pm 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Group auditions will be held on Friday 10 July, Saturday 11 July & Sunday 12 July from 2pm to 4pm 
  • Must be available for group staff induction on Saturday 1 August
