The role

The IT Business Analyst plays a critical role within North Sydney Council’s IT Division, supporting the organisation to maximise the value and return on its investment in IT systems and infrastructure. The role takes an organisation-wide perspective, applying innovative thinking and a strong focus on continuous business improvement to identify opportunities that enhance services, processes and organisational performance.

Strong business acumen and the ability to build trusted relationships with business stakeholders are essential to the role. The IT Business Analyst will work collaboratively across the organisation to understand business objectives, identify opportunities for improvement, and influence and drive positive change through effective use of technology.

The role will undertake critical analysis of the organisation’s business objectives, services, processes and information needs to identify opportunities that deliver measurable business improvements and value. This includes translating business needs into clear and effective business and functional requirements, specifications and recommendations that support informed decision-making and successful technology outcomes.

 

What we're looking for

The successful incumbent will bring highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to articulate the business value and benefits of IT investments. Strong communication and influencing skills, together with demonstrated project management experience, will be essential to effectively plan, coordinate and deliver IT systems and infrastructure projects in collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.

Salary range: $114,979 to $137,295 pa + 12% superannuation + $1,000 pa transport allowance 

35 hours per week with access to flexi time 

Term Contract to August 2028
