Mental Health Clinician

We are looking for a Mental Health Clinician to join our Primary Care Eating Disorder Support Service at headspace in Campbelltown. This is a temporary full-time contract until 30 June 2025 and the salary range is between Health Professionals Level 2 to Level 3 (depending on experience).

About the Program

headspace provides early intervention mental health services to young people aged 12-25. The Primary Care Eating Disorder Support Services (PCEDSS) at headspace offers essential assistance to young people in the South Western Sydney area grappling with food-related anxiety or eating disorders. Emphasizing a holistic approach, PCEDSS delivers comprehensive support through a multidisciplinary care team, addressing the needs of individuals, their families, and their carers. The service is designed to provide early intervention by identifying and effectively treating the onset of symptoms.

About the Role

In this role, you will conduct thorough assessments and deliver high-quality clinical therapeutic interventions to young people dealing with disordered eating concerns. A key aspect of your daily responsibilities will be to provide therapeutic support in both group and individual settings, typically serving up to five clients per day. Each session will be tailored to meet the individual needs of the clients effectively. Your efforts will contribute to the overall goal of delivering impactful and compassionate care, enhancing the well-being and recovery of those you support.

Your skills and experience

Essential
  1. Tertiary Qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or Psychotherapy with current registration with the relevant professional body (provisional or full registration with AHPRA, AASW, ACA (Level 3) or PACFA (Clinical Registration).

  2. Current arrangements for clinical supervision (as per registration requirements).

  3. An understanding of the recovery-based approach to assisting people with mental health concerns.

  4. Ability to communicate effectively in all interactions with all stakeholders.

  5. Demonstrated computer literacy to use Microsoft programs and the capability to learn other applications.

Desirable

  1. Experience working within a youth-oriented service.

  2. Previous experience working with disordered eating/ body image concerns.

  3. Flexibility to work outside of business hours when required.

  4. Knowledge of the NSW mental health system and local services.

Additional Details

One Door Mental Health requires all staff to have a Police Check clearance, a current Working with Children's Check and NDIS Worker Screening clearance and appropriate COVID-19 Vaccination.
