About the Role
As part of the Executive team, the Director, Community Engagement will play a critical role in advancing Vinnies' mission by leading and delivering key programs. This is a strategic leadership position focused on expanding and enhancing our community engagement efforts and youth programs. You will oversee multiple key areas, including Conference Support, Youth & Young Adult Programs, Emergency Relief, and Safeguarding, while actively fostering partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
The Director works closely with the Territory Council, the Territory Council President, Regional Presidents and Conference Presidents to strengthen Conferences and engage Society members. Society members are everyday people passionate about helping those in need in their local community. Members work together in groups known as ‘conferences’, bringing together a great depth of understanding, expertise and compassion to their service and involvement in the society.
The Director will guide the development of new business initiatives and service delivery models, ensuring that programs align with the Society's strategic priorities. Your leadership will be essential in building and sustaining relationships across various community groups and stakeholders, ensuring the successful delivery of services in a collaborative and innovative manner.
You will lead a diverse team, manage complex programs, and ensure the strategic growth of services that support vulnerable people across the ACT and surrounding regions. The role requires some travel, including overnight stays, and flexibility in working hours to engage with regional stakeholders and conferences.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced senior leader who can effectively manage multiple programs while driving innovation and fostering community engagement. You will have proven experience leading large-scale programs and initiatives within a complex environment.
You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. You will be expected to utilise your expertise in stakeholder management, community engagement, and partnership development to build lasting and productive relationships.
As a senior leader, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership and team management skills, focusing on performance and professional development. Additionally, your experience in financial management, securing funding, and ensuring program outcomes are met will be crucial in driving success.
The successful applicant must be willing to undertake a National Police Check upon commencement, either hold or obtain a Working With Vulnerable People card. A current driver license is essential.
Our Offer
- Generous salary package: a minimum salary of $161,000 p.a. plus 14.5% superannuation ($23,345 annually).
- Salary packaging options: up to $15,900 per FBT year, plus an additional Meals and Entertainment package up to $2,650 per FBT year.
