Our friendly team of NDIS professionals are committed to ensuring that clients who meet NDIS eligibility, achieve access to the Scheme and are provided with the highest standard of NDIS services and options available. Some of your clients will live in the community and others in residential aged care settings. Most have no family or support people to assist them to manage their services which is why our role is so rewarding.

Wintringham has a long history of providing high quality, evidence-based behaviour support using the least restrictive options for residents of Residential Aged Care (RAC) facilities. With the growth in our NDIS service delivery, we have created an exciting new role for a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner (PBSP) to join our organisation on a Part-time (Fixed Term) or Casual basis.

We are looking fr a compassionate and motivated professional who is excited to contribute to excellent outcomes for socially and financially disadvantaged people with a disability.

Candidates must have at least a Proficient rating on the Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework.

Your duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct assessments to create behaviours support plans with proven strategies tailored to individuals who exhibit challenging behaviours.
  • Develop customised strategies for individuals with disabilities that address their needs, reducing challenging behaviours and limiting the use of restrictive measures.
  • Assist in crafting relevant policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with participants, their families, RACS staff, healthcare professionals, caregivers, and service providers to ensure behaviours support plans meet NDIS requirements.
  • Offer expert advice to Wintringham staff on behaviour support.
  • Organise planning and training events that foster team development, person-centred thinking, and positive behaviours support to enhance individuals' quality of life.
  • Investigate incidents signalling unmet behaviours support needs and propose plan adjustments.
  • Submit behaviours support plans including regulated restrictions to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
  • Create, oversee, and act on personalized risk plans to reduce incidents and address hazards.
  • Maintain a record of billable hours for efficient claims.
  • Carry out additional tasks as instructed by the Manager or assigned representative.

We are looking for candidates with the following:

  • Tertiary qualification or currently studying either Nursing / Psychology / Occupational Therapy / Social Work / Diploma Community Services
  • Minimum of Practitioner Proficient per the PBS Capability Framework
  • Current drivers licence + your own reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility and a willingness to travel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
