The Role:
A great opportunity has become available for a Process Continuous Improvement (CI) Specialist to join our team at ARYZTA’s bakery in Glenfield, Auckland on a permanent, full-time basis.
Reporting directly to the General Manager NZ, this newly created role will drive proactive CI initiatives across the site, focusing on analysing manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities for optimisation, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency, minimise waste, and drive operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities will include:
- Analyse processes, identify opportunities for improvement and lead CI initiatives and projects across the manufacturing site.
- Apply CI methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen to optimize performance and support organizational growth.
- Scope improvement initiatives; coordinate and liaise with key stakeholders, suppliers and contractors to ensure successful execution of projects, improvements and corrective initiatives.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness by ensuring that all plant, equipment, and personnel, both permanent and contracted, comply with the company’s safety, housekeeping and environmental standards.
- Ensure adherence and compliance to all ARYZTA Policies & Procedures including Financial, Quality, GMP, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) policies.
About You:
We are looking for a passionate CI professional who is a do-er, has a commitment to accountability, and the ability to drive positive change and build effective relationships at all levels.
To thrive in the role, you will bring:
- Previous experience within FMCG/food/bakery or other relevant manufacturing industries.
- Sound knowledge of operations and manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical and process aptitude with a scientific and data-driven approach.
- Working knowledge of CI methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen.
- Proactive, innovative, and driven to identify and implement continuous improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and build strong cross-functional relationships.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications - Outlook, Excel & Word; experience with ERP systems will be preferred.
- Trade qualification, mechanical or electrical, and/or tertiary qualification in Engineering will be highly regarded but are not essential.
- Strong commitment to safety, ensuring compliance with company standards and legislative requirements
