Pennecon is seeking qualified individuals to work at its Qaqortoq, Airport Construction Site in Greenland. Position requires knowledge and experience operating Emulsion trucks in hard rock environments on remote and fast paced work sites.

As we ramp up with this project, we are seeking motivated and talented individuals who possess the technical skills required to contribute to a heavy civil project team. 

Role: Truck Driver – General & Articulated
Location: Qaqortoq, Greenland

Position requires knowledge and experience operating Articulated Dump Trucks in hard rock environments on remote and fast paced work sites.

The successful candidates will work in the field and be responsible to support the Company’s safety, quality and environmental programs, in the execution of the work. 

Duties include:

  • Transport ready-mix concrete off-road, steep terrain and excavations around site
  • Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
  • Daily pre and post trip inspections
  • Daily maintenance such as checking fluids and greasing
  • Managing material and maintaining production goals
  • Safely travelling and setting up at work locations
  • Follow instructions and exercise good judgement
  • Tracking fuel and water consumption
  • Daily maintenance of Mixer drum
  • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations and compliance legislation
  • Possess a good work ethic, a positive attitude and the ability to work in a team

The Ideal Applicant for this position will possess the following:

Required Education and Experience

  • Formal truck driving certificate
  • Air Brake Class 09/09a and Class 03 International Equivalent
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • 2-3 years operating Fuel, water and Vac trucks and Concrete mixer trucks on construction sites
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
  • Able to make good decisions working in fast paced environment working in close proximity to equipment and people

Work Schedule and Conditions

  • Remote Work in Northern Climates, working outside, working 10-12 hours each day on 4 weeks on 2 weeks off rotation.
