Pennecon Heavy Civil is growing!  We have recently been awarded an exciting project in Pointe du Bois, MB to assist with major updates and refurbishments to a hydro electric facility. Role: Project Controls Engineer

Location: Pointe du Bois, MB

The successful candidates will work in the field and within a site office setting, and be responsible to support the Company’s overall reporting and project controls deliverables on major projects.  Your accountabilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating resource allocations and information from multiple stakeholders;
  • Tracking progress/deliverables;
  • Managing and organization of cost codes and structures;
  • Analyzing workloads and productivity rates;
  • Updating and analyzing project schedules;
  • Recommends improvements in systems, tools, and methods of project controls and project management.

Qualifications of the role will include:

  • Engineering Degree or technical engineering diploma, preferably in civil;
  • 5+ years of experience as a Scheduler or Planner, or a combination of major project experience leading to this;
  • Highly adept at MS Excel, and in creating tracking sheets;
  • Experience with Primavera P6;
  • Experience working in a construction environment where responsiveness and ability to work and adapt to varying environments will be critical
  • Expectation that this is a predominately field based position, ability to work in all weather elements;
  • Organizational, time management, and effective communication skills with an attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a positive team attitude

There is an expectation to work extended work schedules, which includes holidays and weekends.  Travel away from home will be required.  Preferred candidates will be open to travel and construction project work, and be on a defined rotation work schedule.  Competitive living out allowance will be provided.
