Who are we?

Wintringham provides aged care services to those who are financially disadvantaged and have previously been homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. We employ over 900 staff and our Port Melbourne Hostel offers affordable, high quality accommodation and care to 35 men and women aged 50 years and over.  We provide a safe, flexible and caring family-style environment, which allows residents to maintain their chosen lifestyles, habits and activities and to be as independent as they choose to be.

 

              Your new role

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Personal Care Assistant or Enrolled Endorsed Nurse to join our residential team at Port Melbourne Hostel as a Documentation Assistant on a Part Time basis.

 

The available shifts are:

Week 1&2: One day per week – Thursday (0700-1500)

 

Your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Completing and maintaining appropriate documentation to satisfy Aged Care Funding Instrument (ACFI), assessments and care plans.
  • Conducting care plan reviews and replans
  • Ensuring ACFI reviews and resident assessments are completed in a timely and efficient manner
  • Observing and reporting changes in residents behaviour or physical condition and maintain appropriate documentation as required
  • Providing emotional support to residents

We are seeking candidates with the following:

Successful applicants will have a Certificate III/IV in Aged Care/Individual Support (with medication endorsement) or have a Certificate 4 or Diploma in Nursing (with current Enrolment at AHPRA). In addition, you will also possess:

  • Ability to work both in team and autonomously
  • Completion of medication administration unit (HLTHPS006 - Assist Clients with Medication)
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to enhance or maintain our residents independence and lifestyle
  • A friendly and non-judgmental attitude

Successful applicants will be required to undergo a NDIS Screening Check and Police Records check. Refusal to provide your information to both of these parties will prevent Wintringham from being able to continue with your application.

 

Applicants who have lived in a country other than Australia for a period longer than 12 months in the last 10 years may be required to undergo an International Police Check.

 

Successful candidates will be required to show evidence of having three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine as well as a 2022 influenza vaccine prior to commencing employment with Wintringham.
