About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Human Resources professional to join our team in providing comprehensive HR services to the organisation for a 12-month Fixed Term placement on a 9 day fortnight.
We are seeking a proactive and highly detail‑focused Human Resources Officer who takes ownership, anticipates needs, and contributes effectively both independently and within a collaborative team.
A key component of this role is providing strong recruitment administration support to the Talent and Capability team, ensuring smooth and professional processes from candidate sourcing through to onboarding. You will manage day-to-day tasks with accuracy and efficiency, balancing competing priorities while maintaining exceptional communication and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Talent Administration
You will play a vital role in supporting the Talent & Capability team by:
- Coordinating end‑to‑end recruitment administration including candidate communication, scheduling interviews, reference checks and onboarding tasks.
- Maintaining applicant tracking and records with precision and consistency.
- Coordinating pre‑employment requirements such as medical assessments, psychometric testing and site visits.
- Assisting with the preparation of recruitment documentation including interview packs, offer letters and onboarding material.
- Ensuring all recruitment processes align with GPC standards, procedures and compliance requirements.
HR Administration & Support
- Actively seek opportunities to assist team members and ensure smooth HR operations during peak periods.
- Prepare high‑quality documents, correspondence, spreadsheets and reports using MS Word and Excel.
- Manage employee lifecycle documentation, records and data entry with strong attention to detail.
- Assist in planning and delivering events such as retirements, trainee/apprentice programs and assessment centres.
- Respond professionally to enquiries, providing clear and timely communication internally and externally.
- Work collaboratively with HR Advisors, Talent & Capability Specialists and the broader People team.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in HR, recruitment administration, or high-volume office support.
- High level of attention to detail across documentation, data entry and communication.
- Proficient in MS Office suite, with experience in Microsoft 365 preferred.
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively.
- Safety-conscious with a commitment to ongoing personal and professional growth.
- Valid C class driver's license.
- Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC) or ability to obtain.
