About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and qualified Vegetation Control Officer for a 12 month fixed term position. This position is responsible for managing weed control and maintaining vegetation across GPC Parklands and operational sites. The role contributes to the upkeep of parklands, enhancing both the community’s enjoyment and GPC’s public image.
Key responsibilities include vegetation and weed control in accordance with GPC’s Pest Management Plan, as well as parkland and site maintenance. The role involves operating various machinery, such as tractors and mowers, and performing tasks such as slashing, mowing, and basic equipment maintenance. Safe work practices are essential, requiring adherence to GPC’s safety management protocols and relevant Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) standards.

About You
Our ideal candidate will hold an ACDC licence from Biosecurity Queensland. Physical requirements include the ability to lift chemical containers, handle spray hoses, and wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Proficiency in operating equipment such as tractors, mowers, and spray units, along with strong collaboration skills to work effectively with colleagues, is essential. Commitment to GPC’s Health, Safety, and Environment management systems and Code of Conduct is expected.
