Your new role
Join our Property team as our Projects Coordinator - Construction and manage construction projects generated by our life cycle replacement program and annual capital budget funding. In this role you will work across Victoria to coordinate upgrades to buildings—both inside and outside, as well as building services—on projects ranging from $5K to $350K. Each project is truly unique and will see you working in ‘Live’ environments, or existing buildings. As a key contributor to the Property team you will work with and support colleagues and clients to ensuring the continued provision of high-quality accommodation, and a safe environment for all residents, staff and visitors. This is a full-time ongoing role reporting to the Project Manager – Constriction.
Your responsibilities and duties include:
- Assess and prioritise project work based on urgency, resources, duration and complexity. Develop clear project scopes (briefs), including stakeholders and communication plans. Manage projects within approved scope, timeframes and budgets
- Apply technical judgement to recommend appropriate solutions and replacement products. Minimise operational disruption by planning and managing impacts of works
- Maintain regular communication with stakeholders, providing updates on progress, changes and timelines. Prepare visual aids to communicate concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- RFQ preparation, contractor submission evaluation, and contractor performance management. Inspect contractor works to ensure quality, safety and compliance. Review contractor OH&S processes and complete required inductions
- Provide regular project updates for supervision and monthly reporting
We are looking for candidates with the following:
- Current Victorian driver’s licence and Construction industry white card
- Experience in construction, building design, or a related built environment discipline, with a working knowledge of construction methods, refurbishment works, building materials, and relevant Australian building codes and standards (NCC/BCA). Applicants with trade, building design, architectural, or project management backgrounds are encouraged to apply
- Demonstrated experience managing small construction or refurbishment projects, including budget tracking and reporting against approved project costs. Experience delivering projects in occupied facilities or operational environments
- Ability to coordinate and supervise multiple trades on site, identify and resolve on-site problems, and maintain programme and quality standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to prepare scopes of work, briefings, and project progress reports
